Thread: SGA Fixed Size

    What's mean here Fixed size of SGA??
    I always thought PGA is a fixed size of SGA, but my sort_area_size=1M und Fixed size=0,75M!!
    Can someone explain me?

    SQL> startup force
    Instance ORACLE lancÚe.

    Total System Global Area 61216796 bytes
    Fixed Size 75804 bytes
    Variable Size 18919424 bytes
    Database Buffers 42143744 bytes
    Redo Buffers 77824 bytes

    Fixed Size
    - Contains general information about the state of the database and the
    instance, which the background processes need to access.
    - No user data is stored here.
    - This area is usually less than 100k in size.
