    Is there a way to find out when a user dropped a tablein an 8i database?

    You can if you have AUDITING enabled, otherwise you have to use logminor to qurey your archive_logs and get the information you wanted(not simple unless you know specific window of time the table has been dropped to analyze that particular window worth of logs using logminor).
