all versions of Oracle server before 8.1.6 are pretty unstable under Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 6.0 and frequent internal errors cause the server to discontinue its operation

Looking in the alert log or looking through any trace files in your background_dump_dest may help diagnose the problem

Hi,

What was the status of the Instance after getting the error.
My understanding is that u r running the export from the server and NOT THE client. Please clarify.
Is the disk space enough to accomdate the dump file?
