Displaiyng Images without stroing

hiya !!!

I am new to the forums here ..... so I welcome myself

ok , i have to create a small catalog , with loads of pic, consider a clip art cd.

All the pictures are properly named and stored inside folder inside folder as per the categoriztion .

Suppose the files are in C:\MYPICS\..... folders

I have oracle 9i, wat I want to do is create a database , in whic I enter data through Developer 2000 ,

I should just point to the location of the picture and it should be displayed instead of being STORED IN THE DATABASE , as that will surely save me the size problem .

If I have to store the pics in the datbase , can i say create the database in C:\MYPICS where all my pictures are stored categorised , and use oracle ???

Is this possible or just ficiton ?????
