    Hi,

    I have about 14-20 databases to be backed up. Which would be the better tool to manage the backup and recovery of all the databases.

    List of the tools will be highly useful.

    Hello;

    Oracle-Recover-Manager + Catalog + Enterprise-manger -JobSystem.

    Then any backup-software/tapes which store the images.

    If you are a fan of low-level and you like the old method, than you could do this with hotbackup and Unix-Schellscripts and tar.

    If you want to do it highlevel without Oracle-Tools i think there are deifferent opportunities too;

    You have to configure oracle to use netbackup's libobk.so file. Then, you allocate a channel of type "sbt_tape" and pump your backups through it. Netbackup then manages the tape media.

    Yeah, It is refered as "Media Manager" in Oracle documentation of Recovery Manager Users Guide, Page 4-16.

    Oracle use it to load, unload, and label tape.
