installing Oracle 8i personal Ed.

Please help...

i have just downloaded the oracle 8i personal ed from the oracle site. Naively i thought i would hit install and she would setup on my computer. However this is not the case, what other software do i need or what am i doing wrong.

please explain?

If you're using windows, you just need to extract the files (winzip or other utility), then find setup on one of the extracted files.

hmm i wish it was that easy.

I unzipped it..it found an error in one of the files, i continued the unzip and it wasnt a major file i wouldnt think. I then tried to run setup or autorun and it looks for it somewhere and cant find the java run time environment.

do i need to download and setup the java environment first?

PLEASE HELP.
