Thread: Problem in starting CMAN

    Hallo
    Is there any need to start CMADMN process though I am not using Names Server.
    If required should I start before the CMGW process or after ?

    No the following is the problem I am facing.

    E:\>cmctl

    CMCTL> start cman
    ADMIN Status:
    (STATUS=(VERSION=8.1.6.0.0)(STARTED=28-MAY-2002 15:21:14)(STATE=RUNNING))

    after showing the above lines it is giving Dr. Watson error which is as follows :

    An application log is being generated CMGW.exe
    Exception:Access violation(0xc0000005),Address 0x60a11220

    But OracleOrahomeCmadmin is running perfectly. When I am trying to start
    OracleOrahomeCman , the above is coming . What to do ?

    No, CMADMIN does not have to be running for Connection Manager to work.
