This question is taken from Couchman's guide.

You want to write a trigger that sceens a query condition. At what level will you place the trigger?

    A. item
    B. Record
    C. Block
    D. Form.

We need a pre-query trigger here and it will be placed at block level. But the solution at the back says the right answer is D.

    Can you please explain why??

    Kind regards,
    Anurag.

Common sense would really lead you to the block level answer. However, in Forms it is much safer to keep pre-query triggers on Form level, sometimes depending on how you develop the application, the block level pre-query trigger might just not fire. But I would still (in most caeses) place the the trigger at block level.

The answer is still C and there is obviously a mistake in the book.

    Thanks Julian.

Is it possible for you to send me the break up of topics (and no of questions asked in that topic) that you get at the end of the exams.

    Kind regards,
    Anurag.
