Unable to drop a materialized view

Hello All,
I am trying to drop a materialized View ( DB is running on 8.1.7.2 on solaris), and its generating end of comunication channel error and a trace file dump , which is having ORA-7445 error.

I heard this was a bug in 8.1.6 , and was resolved in 8.1.7 , this way i should not see this error in my DB , coz its running on 8.1.7.2..

Any ideas ???

And is there any work around for this problem instead of 9i upgrade??..

is there any workaround for this, Now we are seeing it in development and once if the patch applied here , we have to do it on sand box, QA and production, so it will be a lengthy process and we are in temprary freeze due to application upgrades...

Would like to know the back door solution , if any

well look on metalink and read the README and see if 8.1.7.4 fixes your bug
