    Hai,

We just upgraded / migrated from 7.3.4 to 8.0.6.3 Oracle for our application. The installation / migration went smoothly and according to the documentation.

Now the users are reporting noticable performance, (i.e a action which took 1 minute in oracle 7.3.4 is taking 3 minutes with oracle 8.0.6.3 running on AIX 5.0 )

For our application we are usnib VB 5.0 as GUI, operating system 98.
Using Oracle ODBC driver (version 8.0.6.6) to connect to Server 8.0.6.3.
Using Oracle73 driver (version 2.00.0301) to connect to Server 7.3.4.

Are there any published tuning issues, whitepapers, bugs, or just observations which should be addressed when going from Oracle7 to Oracle8 or from 32 to 64-bit?Any help appreciated.

Has any one faced the same , if so can u please help us.

    Thanks,
    Vijjender Muddam (VJ)
