    I have successfully tested the installation of Oracle 8i from the downloadable zip file from the Oracle site on COmpaq Servers on Tru64 Unix. We have also orderd the purchase the license for the software from the distributor.

    The Server is for a very critical usage at a Government Department.

    I just wanted to know whether we need to reinstall the Oracle from the CDs provided by the distributor.

    Never. The software you downloaded is the same they oracle send you (if you don't download beta software logically)
