Hi,
I am an Oracle certified 8i/9i DBA. I want to get started with 11i. Where do I start? Feedback from the forum will be really appreciated..

kolagani,
What area in 11i are you trying to get started? You can order the 11i software from Oracle and try to install it in your system. Take training. Also check out some good books on Oracle E-Business suite 11i at http://www.osborne.com. The Oracle E-Business Suite Financials Handbook is good for understanding the business process and functionality of Oracle Application while the Oracle E-Business Suite Financials Administration is good for technical jobs such as Application DBA or 11i Technical Consultant. As a DBA, I will suggest the later for you.
Good Luck.

Hi CK,
Thanks for the info. I'm actually interested in the Manufacturing, Supply Chain and CRM Modules of 11i. As a matter of fact I'm interested in becoming a Technical Consultant as opposed to being a 11i DBA.
I know that Oracle recently retired the Financial Consultant Exam. Do u know whether Oracle will be releasing any certifications for 11i? I'm planning on buying the CD's from Oracle.
Anyway, If you know any information please let me know.

kolagani,
I read sometime last year that there is a company developing certification exam on 11i for Oracle. I cannot proof the validity of it. However, at http://www.osborne.com, they also have an excellent book for Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management called Oracle E-Business Suite Manufacturing & Supply Chain Management.
Good luck

Hi Arvinds,
Go to http://www.osborne.com. and search for Oracle e-Business Financials Administration. The book has a good section for managing Oracle Application. Also check for oracle documentation at: http://docs.oracle.com/DOCS_DOT_PDF_Storage/a90130.pdf. You will need metalink access.
Good luck.
