It is only used for benchmarking, do not use it if you do not want to loose your database. If you set it to TRUE and your database crashes or you perform a SHUTDOWN ABORT, you will not be able to start up that database again. Ever.
As I said, it is only used internaly by Oracle Corp when they set up their system for official (or less official) benchmark tests. It instructs the database to absolutely minimize the amount of redo information generated and written into redo log files. But it also means that no instance recovery is possible.
Do not touch that hidden parameter unless that database is just your play toy of yours.
