I am trying to track down a bind variable in Oracle 8i and 9i. I've heard that this can be done. Is there anyone out there who has successfully done this?
If so, could you supply the detail information on the approach.

You have to set the 10046 event. You can do this by either issuing
Code:
alter session set events '10046 trace name context forever, level 4'
if you can alter the session.
Otherwise, as system, you can
Code:
exec sys.dbms_system.set_ev(sid, serial#, 10046,4,'');
(where sid, serial# are from v$session of the session you want to trace)
as a dba to enable tracing in an existing session.
