Thread: oracle 8i on RH linux

    I found from metalink product lifecycle that red had linux 7.2 is not supported/certified for oracle 8i/9i? we are planning to install oracle 8i/9i on this platform..are there any known issues with this combination(red hat linux 7.2 with oracle 8.1.7/9i) please advise.

    Cool

    Oracle 9i is installing fine on RedHat 7.2. No major bugs or issues were reported so far.

    For 8.1.7 on RedHat 7.2, the decision is all yours. It is true that Oracle does not provide support for this combination on production db servers. More installation resources could be found here:
