Thread: Instance Crashed

    Hi Guys,

    Yesterday our database instance crashed due to the following error.

    Thu May 16 06:26:54 2002
    Shutting down instance (immediate)
    License high water mark = 41

    Errors in file E:\Oracle8i\admin\pandaza\bdump\pandazaSNP1.TRC:
    ORA-12012: error on auto execute of job 226
    ORA-20000: ORU-10015: error:3 waiting for pipe message.
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_ALERT", line 117
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_ALERT", line 309
    ORA-06512: at "PANDAOWNER.BP_PANDAPRT_PRINT", line 37
    ORA-06512: at line 1

    This is the message logged in pandazaSNP1.trc:

    Has any one faced a problem similar to this.

    I guess this error might be caused due to job which is indicated in the trace file.Just try to re-examine the job and check it.
    It must have caused on the backgroud process to crash.
    Just restart the database.Oracle will perform auto recovery.
    But make sure u check the job once and try to fix the problem
