    My experience

    5 years of tech support
3 months of oracle 8i dba hands on class
    1zo-026

The job dealt with supporting oracle applications for 30k a year. Was that a good offer??? because I blew it. I got angry at the amount offered and lost my temper. I still regret it.

How do we non expereinced oracle souls look for jobs???

I think you should have taken it, not that the job offer is decent or anything but after 6 months of relevant exp. in the field you will be at a better postion to find yourself a better job.

    Where do you live?

The pay is a little too low, but at this kinda economy, you should take it if you haven't have a job yet. But if you already have a job why would you want to move. Most of the companies now day laying off based on LIFO, last in first out. If you haven't have a job, sure why not.

Make the right decision. job security comes first.

If Oracle DBA is the direction you want to go, then you should have taken it.

After a year of real hands on work, you will find the job offers will start coming easier and with bigger salaries.

30K US dollars, right here in my city of Dallas. I do not have a job, and I feel stupid for not accepting this offer.

Don't beat yourself up about it, there's nothing you can do. Unless of couse you want to approach them again. Anyway, another opportunity may arise in the near future. Keep with it, and just remember the market is VERY tough at the moment.

    Baccart,
I would call them up and again try to arrange an interview.
TRY to renegotiate and take the offer, 30k may not be good but you'll move into oracle direction.
This could have been your lucky hopping stone!!!

Call them again and ask for a second interview. Tell them you regret about not taking the offer. You have nothing to loose!
