Thread: Oracle Deinstallation Prob

    I want to reinstall oracle 8i personal edition but the installation is not complete it is running into errors. while i deinstalled many files are left behind which are undeleted , please help me to install oracle 8i again .

    You can manually delete Oracle home and clear the Oracle entries from registry and reinstall it.

    It is irritating.
    but use os commands to delete all the files(in view all mode so you don't have any of those hidden files dll's lurking in the background)/and also registry settings(in hkey_local machine\software\oracle and in services\currentcontrol set as well).

    Then try , that must work.

    I'm with you. It's unfortunate and frustrating that the Uninstall doesn't work.

    What modern software requires you to hack the registry to uninstall? Geeze.

    yes even i faced this problem.

    do as all these people says.

    1. manually delete the oracle folder (orahome)
    2. manufally delete the oracle folder ( program files )
    3. delete oracle entry in registry from software
    4. delete oracle services from currentcontrolset
