and to tell you the truth, i don't know the answer, as i don't know alot about Sqlserver, so any tips would be abbreciated.
Thanks in advance.

1 Year after Year SQLServer is matching Oracle technically.
2 Intel machines are more powerful than what they were 5 years ago. Intel machines support multiple CPUs, more than 4 GB RAM, and support almost all type of disk array systems available in the world. You do not need UNIX boxes just for running Oracle alone.
3 SQLServer cost is less. At least Microsoft knows how to price the software.
4 Most of the front end tools are well integrated with SQLServer and are very easy to learn, easy for deployment and easy for maintenance. What else on the earth you need!!!
5 More and more data warehouse systems are being implemented using SQL Server RDBMS. The reason is simple. COST. Very soon OLTP systems will follow.
6 Oracle's declining market share on Windows platform.
7 Declining stock value of Oracle. I am not worried. Certainly, Larry worries about that.
8 Oh, man/woman, Compaq is gone. The reason is simple. They can’t manage UNIX. Compaq was #1 before they bought DEC.
9 Believe it not, the next company available for sale is SUN Microsystems. Another UNIX vendor.
10 Bill Gates has been working not only to close Oracle but also Unix. The man who has money rules the IT.

I agreed with Tamil to certain point, at least. SQL Server is easier to learn, and cost lesser to adopt. But in term of security, back to front end support, scalability, and clustering? Oracle still leading.
A few of our Oracle DBA show interest in SQL Server just because it is way too easy to use (at least to them). But easy to use also means lesser scalability to me. There isn't any good benchmark for which DB vendors better than others in my opinion, it just depends to the needs of the market. UDB is one of the best too.
