    Hi Gurus,
    I'm working with backup strategies on 9.0.1 on linux 7.1 to implement on our Production servers. I set my archive destination as
    log_archive_dest_1 = 'LOCATION=/opt/oracle/admin/test/arch' and
    log_archive_dest_2 = 'SERVICE=hpdevl.revenuecycle.com'

    I want to send a copy to another machine b'coz, this server doesn't have a tape drive. So i want to move these archives directly to the machine one which got a tape drive. (i.e. specified in dest_2) . I started my DB and generated some transactions. But i couldn't find out any archives on the DEST_2. this machine is HP-UX and the DEST_1 is a linux box. I'm not getting any errors, nothing. Can any one help me put pls. I want my archive generated at another remote machine also. and where can i check that archive in the remote machine , i mean the path .

    thanks in advance

    Is hpdevl.revenuecycle.com a standby server?

    If not, you would probably be better off creating an NFS mount point from hpdevl to your box and setting the log_archive_dest_2 to the mounted filesystem.
