    when ever fire any query on DBA_segments,

    I got the meeasge not connected to oracle or end of coomunication to oracle.
    How can you rebuild system tables or views , how can you repair system tablespace...???

    Please help
    It's a live database and no down time

    You don't have connection to the DB. Check, the DB must be down. Or you are probably disconnected from SQLPLUS if you are using client/server connection .

    Hi,

    For rebuilding you system tables, run catalog.sql script which is available
    in ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin.

    can we rebuild using catproc in production database.

    I am connected properly but as soon as fired query on dba_segment tablespace it get disconneted

    You have to log in as sys as user and then run the catalog scripts.
    Just monitor whether these scripts are run properly.

    got a hunch that probably your system kernel parameters are
    not enough....chk the oracle alert.log for clues..
