I'm using Oracle 8i EE on Win NT

i'm not able to shutdown from sys both from sqlplus and
    svrmgrl. shows - INSUFFICIENT PRIVILEGES

but it is possible from internal user.

another problem is if try to connect internal from sqlprompt i have to type it as

    connect internal/password

i cannot use connect internal (enter) and then password. it again show same INSUFFICIENT PRIVILEGES.

any body faced same problem ???

    Hi,

If you want to shutdown the database using sys then,
you should connect to sys like:

    connect sys@netservice name as sysdba.
