    Hello,

I am using Oracle 8.1.7.1 database on HP Unix 11 and getting ORA-12571: TNSacket writer failure.

I have searched Oracle metalink and deleted sql_expire.time parameter and still hitting this error message. I have turned tracing on at the highest level=16 and was unable to detect cause of this problem.

Can someone help me with this issue?

    Thanks in advance

Rename the sqlnet.ora file and try it again. We just always delete the darn thing and use it as needed.
