    When ever I try to fire queries likeSELECT Owner, Segment_Name, TableSpace_Name, Extents, Blocks, Bytes
    FROM DBA_Segments
    WHERE Extents > 5
    ORDER BY Extents DESC;

    or
    checking for rollback segment as system user

    I am always getting erorr not connected to oracle.
    it is connecting as system and I can do query but it disconnectd if I fire above query or any query related to rollback segment

    Hi,

    Try to do the same thing using server manager. Check whether all your datafiles are online.
    Check for the Alert Log as well as the dump files generated by the Background processes(if any).
