    Oracle suggest:

"WARNING: If you know that an archived redo log group has been damaged, immediately back up all datafiles so that you will have a whole database backup that does not require the damaged archived redo log. "

    Question:

How do you knwo if an archived log has been damaged?

Use Verify Utility...to verify...curruptions if any..
Other wise try setting db_block_checksum= true in init.ora

You cannot use the verufy utility dbverify to verify corruptions in archive log files.

    Its only for the datafiles
