Thread: BACKUP IN TAPE

    IAM TRYING TO DO A BACKUP IN TAPE.MY ORACLE IS RUNNING ON AIX ENVIRONMENT.

    IT GIVES AN ERROR SAYING MEDIA MANAGEMENT COULD NOT BE LOADED.BUT MY INSTALLATION WAS COMPLETE INSTALLATION.

    CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO SOLVE THIS.

    I WANT TO SEE THE AVAILABLE COMPNENTS IN ORACLE.
    I TRY TO FIND THE MEDIA MANAGEMENT LIBRARY IN BIN DIRECTORY.BUT I COULDN'T FIND IT. COULD ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO LOOK FOR THE ALREADY INSTALLED COMPONENTS?

    You can find the installed components via the Oracle Installer.

    Legato Storage manager comes as the default media manager for RMAN. If you are using this software, make sure it is installed and running.

    If you have your own media manager (Veritas Netbackup, Tivoli, Brightstore), then follow the respective installation instructions and link the appropriate libobk to the libobk in your path.
