    i am using oracle 8.1.7 windows 2000

    Oracle Sofwtare downloaded from the oracle site.( 30 day renewal basis ) from 8.1.7.0 to 8.1.7.1

    Now i want to appply patches to it. so how should i go ahead with it. from where can i get the patch exe.

    Also when u are having liscened copy of oracle and if u want to appy patch what is the procedure . how one should do and how it is done

    You can download patches from metalink.oracle.com. The patch directions are included in the patchset.

    You can download patches from metalink.oracle.com. The patch directions are included in the patchset.

    jeff i went to that web site .
    I donot have a account.
    I tried to register , but one has the enter the support identifier
    in the field .
    since i have downloaded oracle from the oracle web site and it is a 30 day product , download was straight forwrad , it didnot give me any confirmation number or any other number.

    how should i go ahead with this. ?

    Unfortunately, there is no support offered for products downloaded from OTN. Since the products are trial products, you should be able to evaluate the software with the base release.
