Thread: ROLLBACK SEGMENT

    ALL,
    I have two rollback segments that I would like to take offline use only for batch jobs. The rbs are online now with undo transaction in them
    Questions.
    If I take them offline, will Oracle miss the undo data and throw some ORA? or
    would something esle happen?

    Assuming you're on 8.1.7.

    You can take a rollback segment offline while it has transactions in it. The status will show up as "PENDING OFFLINE" and you won't be able to drop it until all txs are cleared. However, new txs won't use it...

    I'm on 8.1.6. I think it should work here as well.
