We need to have more than 1.75G for all SGAs put together on a box running HP-UX 11 (64-bit). Oracle is 8.0.6 (32-bit).

So, Memory Windows patch was installed on the server.

We updated the /etc/services.window file to have entries for the different SIDs we plan to run.

All available documentation says this is all that has to be done.
But it doesn't seem to be that. When I start an instance, it still goes under the "global" shared mem segment.

Do I have to start the database in any different way ?
