I have been setting up the OEM and seen top dbsnmp cpu usage. I think the value of cpu usage of dbsnmp is high in nature. So, I am curious about other monitoring products. What monitoring tools did you guys use at your shop. Can you share your experience of the tools you used with us, such as the Server resource usage, amount of configuration, cost, ....., etc. ?
Thank you very much.

Not yet. Any command about the tools from the BMC or the quest?
BTW, I founf out the problem on IA. The CPU usage time was taken care of now.
I am still interested in hearing any ideas/suggestions about the monitoring tools from you guys.

Quest is a BMC product. I haven't personally played with it much. So, I'm not at a point to give you a good feed back on it.
BTW, if you don't mind, could you share the cause and fix on your dbsnmp issue? I remeber answering one of the earlier posts on this.
Just curious

Yes, You did. I post the msg.
The fix is to add dbsnmp.polltime and dbsnmp.ipctime on the snmp_rw.ora file.
You can find the info in the 'Oracle Intelligent Agent User's Guide'.
Thank you for your reply.

BMC Patrol is okay, but it takes a while to configure.
For first level support it seems appropriate.
