Thread: how to install oracle8i on linux

    downloaded the linux817.tar file from oracle downloads.
    after untar, it creates folders

    /disk1/stage/components

    and then there are more then 20 folders under components such as]
    oracle.apahce
    oracle.assistants
    oracle.bali
    oracle.networking
    oracle.options

    i couldnt find a runinstaller.sh

    in their installation guide it prompts to run the runinstaller.sh, which i am unable to locate

    any ideas????

    i downloaded new file from oracle and its all working fine.
