    Hi Everybody,

    I am for the first time trying to use the RMAN utility(8.1.7/win 2000).
    On Cmd i typed Rman after that i am in the RMAN dir.
    When i tried to connect to the target database thru..i am getting the following errors..

    RMAN>connect target sys/password

    RMAN-00571
    RMAN-00569
    RMAN-04005:error from target database:ORA-01031: insufficient privileges.

    Pls Advice me how to connect to the target database..any suggestions will help me.

    register your database to RMAN and be sure you have connect string when you try to connect from RMAN
