Thread: 32 bit to 64 bit?

    Hi,

    I'm currently running 8.1.7.0.0 32 bit on Aix 4 release 3.
    I am thinking about upgrading to 9.0.1 Release 1. My problem is that I have the 64-bit disc for 9.0.1. Would this be problem during the upgrade since 8.1.7 is 32 bit and the 9i is 64 bit?

    I assume u have 64bit OS and want to install 64bit Oracle.
    I didnt experienced any problems when i migrated 8.1.7 32bit to 8.1.7 64bit, and migration utility also didnt sensed any need for upgrade. All i saw the cautionary notes in metalink was to follow the Validate Packages incase if u have any invalid pl/sql objs.
