Installing OEM while dbs are running?

Can I install OEM w/o bring ing down the running databases?

What I mean is to install the intelligent agent or upgrade the intelligent agent.

For installing any Oracle Software in a server, the best option is stop all databases (and services if you are in MS platform) and take a backup ( of course in production) if it is delopement or training maybe you can take the risk.

I'm not sure if there is any relinking involved when installing the IA. Best bet would be to take your dbs and listener down.

Yes it does involve a relinking and it is necessary to take all the instances related to that home and then install the agent.
