    Hi,

Recently I installed Patch 8.1.7.3.0 on my 8.1.7.0.0. database .

Our Applications and the database is not behaving the same after this.

Now I want to Undo it. Is there a way to do it.

    Please Suggest

    Thanks
    Ronnie

One suggestion could be too revert to the backup you took before the upgrade (you did take a backup.......didn't you?)

Do you need to keep the data? If not just revert back to the backup if you do then export the data from your DB before applying the backup....

export the user data from the database.

Recover the system from the backup

import the user data back into the 8.1.7.0 database.

A Long winded way but I'm not aware of an Undo facility

    Good Luck

    Moff.

Shutdown your database, remove your 8.1.7.0 installation from the OracleInstaller, and re-install 8.1.7.0 from your media.

what about the database.... Wont it be 8.1.7.3.0. I mean the control files etc etc will be for 8.1.7.3.0 and if after installing 8.1.7.0.0 software i try to bring up the database wont it fail.

The datafiles don't change with a patch upgrade. You can re-install your 8.1.7.0, rerun catalog, catproc, etc., and you're done.

Personally, I'd try and figure out what's wrong with the 8.1.7.3 database since it's MUCH more stable than 8.1.7.0.

    I agree with Jeff.

you might want to check your upgrade log, database in general. 8.1.7.3.0 has nothing to do with your database behavior unless you had some errors on your upgrade.

Did you know that 8.1.7.0.0 had a lot of bugs and I don't even want to mess with it.

If I were you, look closer to the problem beforeo downgrade your database.

What is the problem you are facing after upgrading ?

Think in those terms instead of rolling back
    Thanks
