Hi all, I would like to upgrade my Oracle 8.1.6 running on Solaris to 8.1.7 - as the production machine on the client's end is 8.1.7. I could not find the patch in Oracle's website - Does anyone have a copy which I can download ?

    Thanks,
    Shiva.

There is no patch for that upgrade.

You must install 8.1.7 and upgrade the database(s)
    by running the u080106.sql script.

    Good luck!

There are not patches for upgrade. The way that you do that is that install the 8.1.7 and upgrade the 8.1.6 instances. Once after completing your upgrade, you would have to apply the 8.1.7.3 patchset to it. If you do not want to perform the upgrade while installing the 8i Rel 3. you can run the odma (oracle data migration assistant) to migrate the data from 8.1.6 to 8.1.7
