Thread: ORA 12631 UserName retrival failed???

    Hi all

    Please help me
    I am able to install oracle 8.1.7 on windows 2000 properly,

    but while creting the default database, oracle universal installer throwing this ORA 12631 username retreival failure error.

    Its not creating default database and later if I ingore this error at installation. I am not able to connect to SQL*PlUS eaither.

    Please help, what could be ,my fault and how to come out of this problem. I must finish this installation ASAP.
