    Hi,

Do anyone have experiences on third tier production DBA support? Do you have access as a dba to production database all the time? What do you think if database is in critical condition, you will give temporary access to production database and expect to solve the problem ASAP. If database is in normal condition, you have no access to database. You can ask some reports (queries) about the product database.

well its a managerial decision anyway... and the decision might depend on business criticality , security etc....

And it can vary from site to site....

No definite answer .... since its not a technical issue

    Thanks,
    Madhu

It is my decision if I want to accept this assignment. I have talk to several my dba friends. Their advice is that I shoul not take this assignment. "There is no way you can do a third tier support without access to database." Any suggestion? Any one did this kind third (or second tier ) support ?
