Can you please point me in the right direction for installing the repository for Designer 6i? I have a seperate database for all my repositories (rman, oms) on a Solaris box.

Do I have to run sql or UNIX scripts? From which directory can I find the SQL or the UNIX scripts to run.? The documentation says create 15 tablespaces!!?!! Could this be so?

Is there a UNIX script that does it all? Basically, all I want designer for is data modeling.

I have indeed muttled through the installation documentation but would like a little clear insight from a reply.

thank you very much! database is 9i

    but:
check all needed steps before u start this process.

    Notes:
I saw same incompatible Oracle Desiger 6i and Oracle9i.
    I couldn't solve that problem.

    Thank you!

Isn't the Administartive utility a client tool? I installed Designer 6i, rel 4 for win2k. My understanding is that this is the client. Will this Administartive utility install the repository on the UNIX server?

    First question:
Isn't the Administartive utility a client tool?
YES. Administartive utility is a part of clent side installation.

    Second question:
Will this Administartive utility install the repository on the UNIX server?
    YES.
It's doesn't matter on what kind of type OS u installed Oracle server.
U should have only valid entry to that server in tnsnames.ora file.
