Thread: Oracle Installation

    I am try to deinstall all oracle product ,and then remove the all oracle directory from the m/c.After deinstalling and removing all the registry entry it is not able to delete one specific dll 'D:\Oracle\Ociw32.dll' and it is giving the message ,file may be in use.I have restarted the server also .
    Please suggest some way to delete it.

    You may wish to stop the Oracle Services before you going to delete the files from the machine.

    so control panel ---> services ---> service names start with Oracle --- select each one stop if any...

    Then try to delete the files from the machine...

    It should work

    There is no Oracle Services running.In fact there are no Oracle Services.

    Amit,
    You don't need to delete it but still if you still want to...
    in the registry go to current control set(hkey_local _machine/system/currentcontrol set/services/remove all starting with oracle) and remove all the oracle stuff from the software as well(you said you already did).
    Then try to change the name of this dll file.
    Otherwise restart the server and then first delete it.
    Then reistall your oracle again.
    Let's know if it worked.

    Actually befor implementing your suggestion ,i have started the installation again ,and it works fine without any problem.
