    Question

    Hello.

There was a power-cut this morning, and after it, I'm trying to startup my database. But I get this error message:

    SVRMGR> startup
    ORACLE instance started.
Total System Global Area 7733248 bytes
    Fixed Size 49152 bytes
    Variable Size 7200768 bytes
    Database Buffers 409600 bytes
    Redo Buffers 73728 bytes
    Database mounted.
    ORA-01534: rollback segment 'RBS_BKP_FILES_' doesn't exist

And I'm not able to connect it.

    Any experience?

    Regards.

    editting 'initORCL.ini'

I read about editting 'initORCL.ini', but if a remove 'rbs_ORCL_files_' then I get this error message:

    'RBS_ORCL_MAINTS_' doesn't exist

    And so on...

On startup, ORACLE tries to acquire rollback segments. Oracle will bring all the rollback segments specified in the rollback_segments parameter in the init.ora online.

Upon receiving the ORA-1534, check in your init.ora for the rollback_segments parameter. Remove the rollback segment that the error specifies. Try to startup the database again.

Once the database is open, you can check dba_rollback_segs or v$rollstat to see whether or not the rollback segment really exists.

The above is , which i have got from a search in metalink. Hope this helps you

    Thanks,

    Re: editting 'initORCL.ini'

Larry, I have the feeling that you have misspelled the RBS name.

Remove the rollback segment 'RBS_ORCL_MAINTS from the init.or and try to startup again.
