    Hi Gurus,

    When there are two ports mentioned in the tnsnames.ora, what does it mean?
    The SID and servername is the same.

    For example, pls refer to the following entry:

    MYDB.WORLD =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =

    (ADDRESS = (COMMUNITY = tcp.world)(PROTOCOL = TCP)(Host = mydb.america.com)(Port = 1521))

    (ADDRESS = (COMMUNITY = tcp.world)(PROTOCOL = TCP)(Host = mydb.america.com)(Port = 1526))

    )
    (CONNECT_DATA = (SID = mydb))
    )

    Thanks!
    Hemant

    these port numbers are the default number recommended by oracle corp i.e 1521-1526 so i you can eliminate one
