How to get more info on error messages

hi,
Whenever i get a an error messge with the
error message like ora-3423; how can i get
more information abt that on Windows NT.

I think on unix we use shoerr; what we have to
use on NT;

Unfortunately none on NT to my knowledge.
BTW , its oerr and not shoerr on unix platforms.

you can find the cause of the error and the desired action to solve it by using the Oracle Documentation Library.

Under Oracle Home There is a directory called Mshelp.
Under this directory u can find a lot of .hlp file.

In Oracle 7 for instane under Oracle_Home/Mshelp
there is a file named "Ora.hlp"

In this file u can get all server error message info..
