Standby database

hi,
i want to create a password file for standby database thru oradim utility on win NT.
my initstandby.ora file has this path
d:\oracle\admin\oracle\pfile\initstandby.ora
now should i write the whole path like this in the pfile clause or else how should i write????

i am not able to start my standby instance as it gives error
cannot open parameter file

& i am sure there is something wrong in how i am defining the path in the pfile clause...

How do you start it?
Do you really need password file?

i start with set oracle_sid = standby
if i don't need the password file,how can i do it otherwise??
