    Question

    All,

Can you upgrade from 817 to 9i with the u0801070.sql in the $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin directory??

I used the odma which worked but I'm just curious.

ODMA executes that (or a similar) script as part of the upgrade.

But there are other steps that ODMA performs as well.

Just by running the script, you will not successfully upgrade.

    Good luck.

    Thumbs up

    Hi dknight,

    Thanx

I know some dirty tricks already when upgrading from 8.0.5 to 8.1.7. (setting _system_trig_enbled = false).

I 'll try out the U0801070.sql tonight.
    Kind regards,

    Tycho

If you run the ODMA and save the scripts rather than run them immediately you'll see exactly what it does to upgrade the instance.
