    Hi,
I an giving my 4th test PL/SQL, next month. I passed Architecture, backup and PT. What you guys think about this test?

Is it harder than all other test or this is easier? I am using STS, I guess that should be enough.

Any suggestions on how to study?

    Thanks.

No, you should not have any problems. This test was a bit difficult for me because it was the very first test I ever took thru Prometric, however I got 56/57. Looking back at it now I would say it was the easiest so far.

I used ILT and STS. If you understand questions and answers in STS you are fine. Just read questions VERY carefully, some of them are a bit tricky. Make sure you know what line will produce an error in SQL, scope of variables in PL.

I have only PT left to write. What is your opinion about PT?

And, btw, Net Admin is straight forward and has teh least amount of material to cover.

    Good luck.

    For Leo

Write the exam it is not difficult. Focus on
    Memory structures,
    Oracle Blocks
    Alert files, UTLestat/utlbstat
    Dynamic performance views
    V$CACHE V$QUEUE V$SYSSTAT V$SESSION, V$LOCK
    V$BUFFER_POOL
    DBA_INDEXES, DBA_TABLES, DBA_SEGMENTS

    Initialization Parameters
    SORT_AREA_SIZE DB_BLOCK_BUFFERS MTS_MAX_SERVERS
    MTS_MAX_DISPATCHERS CORE_DUMP_DEST PROCESSES USER_DUMP_DEST

    Contention related issues

Additionally look at the ratios like db hit ratio and others
My qs were basically from these topics whic I remember
    Good Luck

You gave me some tips before as well, but I am still a bit affraid. Have not even touched STS yet, do not feel ready for it. Maybe one day soon. But how do u rate PT vs other exams?

Leo one thing I realized after giving this exam that one indirectly prepares for this exam when he/she is preparing
    for A&A

One thing I did was I revised my A&A notes also before writing PT exam. My logic one is going to optimize the performance of most of the stuff covered in A&A

On the scale of 1 to 10

    SQL 6
    A&A 8
    B&R 7.5 - 8
    PT 6.5 - 7
    NW 5

Need more help contact me on my e-mail

    Thanks, Leo!!

    Your tips will be useful.

About PT I agree with Shaan on the topics he covered. I would like to stress on Dynamic Per. views, Parmeters and Hit ratios.

When I was preparing for this test.. by the time I finished all the chapters I was very confused on all of these things. So In last week I wrote down all the views, parameters and ratios in seperate not and that was very useful. You can do it from the start.

I would also agree with Shaan about His rating for the test( except SQL and NW which I still have to go for). PT is not as tough as it looks.

    Good Luck.
