I've a question for all B&R gurus in this forum (I'm a trying to learn more about B&R). Do you guys take backup of backups say when you take backup of archived logs using RMAN and delete input. What do you do to ensure that you wouldn't be in the situation when the RMAN file (the one contains the archived logs) is corrupted and you need that file for database recovery? Thanks

It is always advised to do a recovery exercise to check whether the backup you are taking is good one. One should do recovery exrcise on test/devlopment system occasionaly.
If you are taking daily hot backup then you shall be able to recover from any previous backup set provided you have all the archived logs available. If you loose the archived logfiles (or they become corruoted) then there is noway you can do a complete recovery.
