Thread: Problems

    I installed oracle 8i standard on windows 2000 pro.
    Everytime I turn on the computer, oracle restarts when
    I join the windows and so on ...... when I log in sqlplus,
    oracle returns the message:

    SQL> connect scott/tiger
    ERROR:
    ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
    ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist


    What is it? How do I fix this?

    Set your ORACLE_SID and ORACLE_HOME paths properly and you would be able to connect.
