help!toad schema comparison from prod to test

i created a database link using toad from database1 to database2
now i try to compare the schema difference using toad but dont know how to execute this has anyone done this before can you please give me a step by step guide
from using toad to create the link to comparing the schema differences thanks so much!!!!!!

you dont need dblink for this.
all you need is the service names.
make service names available for both dbs and you should get it.

should i log into one database and then what next please help

if you are using local names then
edit tnsnames.ora file in your local system .
make a copy of any existing service for a DB and do necessary changes.

my tns names is fine i can connect to both instances seperately on toad my question i how do i go about doing a comparison using TOAD?

if you have full version of toad then make use of dba options and under that you would find compare schema....and every thing is click thru
