    Question

    Hi:

    Oracle : 8.1.6
    O.S. : window NT

I exp. the table from one database and imp. to another one..
and tested and it was working..

Then I dropped the index and recreated the index with out any changes (same as before) and it is not working..

Also, I analyze the index and still not working..

I know I could rebuild the index without dropping and recreating..

If you have any suggestion, plese let me know...

    Thanks..

What do you mean by "It's not working"?

A query is not using your index? If not, compute statistics on the entire table instead of just the index.

The index is UNUSABLE? Rebuild it.

    My question is why?
If you truncated that table prior to the import then the index is trucated as well. It is also re-built upon import and by default analyzed.
    No?

    Hi:

I have anylized the index and table but still having the same problem...
Also, I truncted the table and reload the data using imp but still same problem..

Then drop the table and imp. data and objects that works..

After the imp, if I drop the index and recreate the index then it doesn't work..

Also, I check the sattus of index and it is in VALID state..

    Any idea?

    Thanks.
